Gaming chairs often promise comfort and support but can feel more style than substance. Trust’s GXT 701 Ryon aims to offer a straightforward, affordable option without the heavy bulk or elaborate features found in premium models. It is a simple chair built around padded comfort and a familiar racing‑style frame, and it has held up well since arriving back in 2022.

Design and Build Quality

The GXT 701 Ryon follows the classic gaming‑chair silhouette, with a tall backrest, side bolsters and a padded seat that feels comfortable for long sessions. The black finish keeps the design understated, and the materials have remained in good condition over time. The stitching has held up, the padding has not collapsed, and the chair still feels stable after years of use. It is not a heavy or oversized model, which makes it easier to move around a room or reposition at a desk.

Comfort and Daily Use

The chair’s padding is the strongest part of its design. The seat feels supportive without being overly firm, and the backrest provides enough comfort for extended gaming or work sessions. The armrests are fixed rather than adjustable, which limits fine‑tuning, but they are positioned at a comfortable height for most setups. The chair’s shape encourages a natural upright posture, and the overall feel is closer to a well‑padded office chair than a rigid racing seat.

Adjustability and Practicality

The GXT 701 Ryon keeps things simple. Height adjustment is smooth, the tilt mechanism works reliably, and the base feels sturdy during movement. It does not offer the deeper adjustability found in higher‑end chairs, such as 4D armrests or advanced lumbar systems, but the essentials are present and work as expected. For a mid‑range model, the practicality is solid, and the chair has remained dependable without developing squeaks or wobble over time.

Long‑Term Durability

After several years of use, the chair has held up better than expected for its price bracket. The padding has kept its shape, the faux‑leather finish has not cracked, and the frame still feels secure. The wheels roll smoothly across hard floors and carpets, and the chair has not shown signs of structural fatigue. It is a straightforward design that benefits from being free of overly complex parts that might wear out.
