Biography:
Joseph Mwamba is a first-generation African-American Y.A. writer from Indiana. Previously an assistant for two TV Lit agents at UTA, Joe earned a Producing MFA from Chapman University following four years at Viacom/VH1. Driven to write bold, aspiring Y.A. characters, he was selected into Coverfly's Endorsed Writer Program this April and the 2021 HRTS Mentorship Program. Joe's also a VIP Mentor for WeScreenplay's College Screenplay Lab and an Alumni Mentor for Indiana University's Media School. His Y.A. action dramedy "The Knight's Phoenix" recently won the 2022 Emerging Screenwriters Action & Adventure Pilot Competition, its ninth contest accolade.
