Want the most optimal desk surface mousemat? One that’s big enough to platform even the largest of setups? Then look no further than the QPad Edge Mousepad XXL.

QPad has a whole host of cool and innovative computer accessories on the shelves. These range from mousemats to keyboards, microphones and mice. Beginning life in 1994, Qpad knows what it’s doing when it comes to PCs. The company even built the foundational headset that became the HyperX Cloud. Can it bring PixelReel the joy of a fantastic mousemat?

Qpad’s Edge series of mousemats is said to offer proper response and support for both optical and laser mice, as well as comfort and control for the user. This well-constructed and hard-wearing mousemat has a topology-style design across its surface in black and white. It looks incredible and stylish in most setups.

The packaging is minimal as expected for a rollable material, but it shows clearly how the mat will look, as well as a little window to feel the surface before purchase. The box simply contains warranty information and the mousemat itself, which makes sense; after all, it just goes on the table and contains no electronics.

The XXL in particular is a massive mat measuring 90cm by 40cm. This is enough to cover a large desk in a pleasing way. There is room to use a laptop, a separate mouse, and a notepad, and still have room for a coaster for that all-important mug of coffee. It really feels like this was designed to pull a setup together and make it cohesive between PC and desk.

While stylish and large, the Edge Mousepad also has a great surface, letting this reviewer’s mouse glide satisfyingly and offering accurate sensor feedback during tight gaming sessions online. The rubber base keeps the pad from slipping even during intense action, and the stitching on the edges is soft so it doesn’t rub on skin or catch clothing. Having the extra space to do more sweeping movements is revolutionary.

All in all, this is a very solid and appealing mousemat that is perfect for most setups, thanks to its subtle and stylish design. It is also a great companion to the Nintendo Switch 2 with the Joy-Con 2’s new mouse mode. Simply spread it on the coffee table or desk and pop the controllers down for seamless transition to mouse mode. This mat is perfect for that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond 120fps action.

The Qpad Edge Mousepad is also a fairly well-priced product that won’t break the bank (unlike memory cards!). This is especially true as it seems very hardwearing, and after some intensive use is as new looking as it was on day one!
